Thank you for your interest in Norfolk Collegiate. We're eager to learn more about you and your family during the upcoming admissions process, and we look forward to sharing more about our students, campus and programs with you.

Applications are still being accepted for the 2026–27 academic year, and applications for the 2027–28 academic year are now open.

To begin the process, please follow the steps below. These vary slightly for applications to middle and upper school (Grades 6-12) and lower school (pre-Kindergarten-Grade 5). Middle and Upper School Candidates (Grades 6-12)

Step 1: Submit Online Inquiry

The Inquiry Form will help us learn more about your family. Once the form is submitted, you will soon receive an email outlining next steps and helpful tips for the application process.

Step 2: Schedule Your Tour

A visit to Norfolk Collegiate is an essential part of the application process, and there is no better way to get to know our community than a personal campus tour.

Middle and Upper School Candidates
In-Person Student and Parent/Guardian Tours
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m.
Step 3: Complete Your Application Online
Using your MyCollegiate account, candidates for admission to Norfolk Collegiate can manage the application, submit required documents and view shadow day availability.

The completed application and fee is due by Dec. 15, 2026. In addition to the application, you will be required to submit the following documentation to ensure a priority decision:
- Birth certificate
- Two teacher recommendations
- Transcript–documents must include current and prior year grades
- Testing (see Step 4 below for more information)
- Shadow Day (see Step 5 below for more information)
Step 4: Sign Up for Testing
Candidates for Grades 6-12 are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) during the fall or winter preceding their anticipated enrollment date.

Norfolk Collegiate offers ISEE testing at 9 a.m. at Norfolk Collegiate on the following dates:
- Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026
- Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026
- Saturday, January, 23, 2027
Candidates Grades 6-12: Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) Exam Registration Instructions
1. Navigate to ERB Learn and select "register now" to begin registration.

2. Create a parent account to register on the left-hand side of the screen, and input all required information. From here, an account dashboard will appear for you (the parent), to add students and register for tests. On the left-hand side of the screen, select "add student."

3. Complete all necessary fields of student information, save and continue. You will now be directed to a screen in which there will be an option to search and register for available tests.

4. Click that link, and input the student's current grade level, grade applying for, and current school (optional).

5. When searching for tests, search by date offered (usually must be at least a week out from the date of registration to have availability), as well as the state. Please change state to NY for at-home testing options to populate in the results.

6. Choose from selected options, and register for an exam of your choice. Please add score recipients on the next page to ensure submission to Norfolk Collegiate (Member Code: 471573).

7. Complete registration by selecting all necessary terms and conditions, and proceed to payment to confirm the test.

8. In preparation for your student's exam, please refer to the ISEE At Home Testing Guide for more information.
Step 5: Schedule Your Shadow Day

Using your MyCollegiate account, candidates for admission can schedule a shadow day. The shadow day is a half-day student experience where the candidate will be matched with a current student in their prospective grade level with whom they will take a tour, attend classes and eat lunch.

The candidate must have a completed application on file in order to attend the shadow day. The candidate must schedule the shadow day at least 24 hours in advance to allow for planning, or the shadow day will be rescheduled by the admissions team.

Shadow days for the 2026-27 academic year will be announced in MyCollegiate in September 2026.

Interested in 2026-27 school year? Due to high demand, our pre-K3 and grade 1 classes for the 2026–27 school year are full.

Lower School Candidates (Pre-Kindergarten-Grade 5)

Lower School Candidates

Wednesdays at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m.
Step 3: Complete Your Application Online
Using your MyCollegiate account, candidates for admission to Norfolk Collegiate can manage the application, submit required documents and view shadow day availability.

The completed application and fee is due by Dec. 15, 2026. In addition to the application, you will be required to submit the following documentation to ensure a priority decision:
- Birth Certificate
- Student Screening
- One Teacher Recommendation
- Transcript (Grades 1-5 candidates only) – documents must include current and prior year grades
Step 4: Schedule Lower School Student Screening
Using your MyCollegiate account, candidates for admission can schedule a screening. The screening details for each grade level are listed below.
- Pre-K3, Pre-K4 and Kindergarten: The screening is a one-hour academic and social-emotional readiness assessment conducted in a group setting.
- Grades 1-5: The screening is a student observation conducted over the period of a half-day spent by the candidate in their current grade level.
The candidate must have a completed application on file in order to attend the screening. The candidate must schedule the screening at least 24 hours in advance to allow for planning, or the screening will be rescheduled by the admissions team.

Student screenings for the 2026-27 academic year will be announced in MyCollegiate in September 2026.
Step 5: ISEE Testing (Grades 3-5 Only)
Candidates for grades 3-5 are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE)
