The mission of the Norfolk Collegiate's Alumni Association is to support and promote the general mission of the school. It's goal is to foster and support a strong, loyal, organized and active alumni community.

  • Gordon M. Wolcott ’09

    Gordon M. Wolcott is a member of the Class of 2009 and is a fifth-generation attorney with Wolcott Rivers Gates. He primarily practices in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, as well as business and corporate law. Gordon received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his juris doctor from Regent University School of Law. He currently lives in Norfolk with his wife, Elizabeth, and his daughter, Clara. They are expecting another daughter in the fall of 2024.
  • Allison Haskell McDonald ’02 

    Allison Haskell McDonald is a lifelong resident of Norfolk whose love for Norfolk Collegiate began when she became an Oak in Kindergarten. She is a proud member of the Class of 2002, and after attending James Madison University, returned home to join the family business, where she met her husband, Brian. They have two wonderful children who attend the lower school, Jackson ’33 and Caroline ’35. Allison and her family are proud supporters of the Collegiate community, and you can find her cheering on the Oaks at a basketball game, helping with a class party at the lower school, or hosting a Collegiate event at Guads!
  • Ryan Murray Cobb ’08

    Ryan Murray Cobb ’08 is a native of Norfolk and a 13-year graduate of Norfolk Collegiate. Her most cherished takeaways from the Collegiate experience include the support of the close-knit community and the formation of what would become lifelong friendships. She is also grateful for all the opportunities that her time at Collegiate afforded her. She went on to earn her Business degree from James Madison University, then moved to Nashville to gain some employment knowledge and new experiences. After some time in Tennessee, she traveled Europe for two months and then moved back home to Norfolk. With no time to waste, she started working at Davenport & Company LLC and has now been there for over 10 years. She is a fully licensed financial advisor where she also holds her Certified Financial PlannerTM board certification. Ryan met her husband in 2014 and they married in 2017. They have two children together, one of which will start her journey at Norfolk Collegiate to become a 15-year graduate beginning in August 2024! In her free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dog, traveling, and engaging in almost anything sports-related. She is excited to be back a part of the Oak family!
  • John Garris ’06

    John Garris is a senior associate with Cerity Partners Norfolk office. He’s responsible for advising clients on asset allocation, portfolio management, investment analysis and selection, and financial planning. Prior to joining Cerity Partners, John served as a portfolio manager and equity research analyst for a family investment office. He currently serves on the board for River’s Way Inc., The Hermitage Museum and Gardens Collective, and the Norfolk Employees’ Retirement System. He received a bachelor of arts from Hampden-Sydney College and a master of business administration from The College of William and Mary.
  • Sam Hitch ’12 

    Sam Hitch ’12 works in real estate development and investment for EDENS in Washington, D.C. Prior to EDENS, Mr. Hitch worked in real estate and telecommunications private equity and development in New York and Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of arts in Cognitive Science and from Columbia University with a master of science in Real Estate Development.
  • Jamie McLemore ’09 

    Jamie McLemore (Class of 2009) is the alumni board secretary. Jamie attended the University of Virginia (UVA) where she studied American Studies and Education. Several of her math teachers at Collegiate ignited her love of math education and inspired her to become an elementary math teacher. Jamie began her teaching career in Nashville as a middle school and then elementary educator. In 2022, Jamie graduated with her Education Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from UVA. She currently works as a Title 1 math specialist in Virginia Beach. She continues to work with UVA as an adjunct professor for students receiving a master's of teaching and research projects using mixed reality simulations. Jamie is thrilled to be on the Alumni Board to continue supporting a school that provided her with such a strong foundational educational experience. 
  • Tyler Trapani ’09 

    Tyler Trapani ’09 works with both his brother and father at the family business, Tycon Medical, where they provide custom wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. Tyler is a proud father of his 2-year-old daughter, Rebecca, and he and Christie are expecting their second daughter this fall. When he isn't chasing Rebecca around, Tyler enjoys playing golf, cooking and traveling.
