Norfolk Collegiate's annual auction is the school’s largest fundraiser, providing critical support to our school, affecting almost every aspect of our students’ education. It also provides an opportunity for our families, alumni, faculty, staff, donors and community supporters to work together for a great cause—our students!

We've reimagined our annual auction this year! Everything will take place online! You will be able to bid from any mobile device throughout the week.

Auction Night Experiences


Virtual tickets to the concert can be purchased through Thursday, Oct. 15. 

From 7-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, join us for a private concert with Lewis McGehee. A prominent force in the Virginia music scene, McGehee's acoustic sound is one that many people flock to around town.  Virtual tickets are $20.  Zoom link will be sent one day prior to event. 


We are thrilled to partner with Hungry Event Xperiences to lead these one-of-a-kind virtual wine tasting and pizza making events! These events will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 6-7 p.m. The deadline to reserve your experience has passed.  

Sommelier Erik Segelbaum will lead you through an enjoyable, interactive workshop designed to boost the wine IQ of novices and seasoned aficionados. In this interactive session you will be introduced to all sorts of hidden gems including grapes and/or regions you’ve never heard of and also the best producers/values in more well known regions. Segelbaum was named 2019 & 2020 Food and Wine Magazine "Sommelier of the Year" and has worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years. The Wine Tasting Kit will be delivered to your home and includes 3 full 750 ml bottles of wine that Segelbaum will take you through.  
Chef Chris Kyler will walk you through making a Detroit-style deep dish pizza from scratch! Chef Kyler was a finalist on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen season 2 and Food Network Star season 10. Deep Dish Pizza Kit will be delivered to your home and includes dry pizza dough ingredients, sauce, toppings, pizza slicer, honey and recipe card.

  • How does this differ from previous auctions?

    The biggest change from previous auctions is that all sections in Silent Auction (Men & Women, Tots & Teens, Entertainment and. Home & Garden) will close at the same time.  You will find Restaurant Row located in Entertainment and LS Class Baskets in the Live Auction.  Silent Auction sections will close at 5:30 p.m. All Live Auction packages will be available to bid on between 5:30-8 p.m. There is no auctioneer and all bidding will take place on your mobile device. 
  • How do I bid on items? Is there an app?

    Starting Tuesday, Oct. 13, text "MYSTERY" to 71760 from any mobile device. From there, you will register for the auction and have access to view and bid on items. 

    No, there is no app.  Once you text "MYSTERY" to 71760, you will receive a link.
  • Can I bid from my computer?

    No, this platform is only available through mobile device.
  • How will I be assigned a bid number?

    When you text “MYSTERY” to 71760, a bid number will automatically be generated for you.
  • Will I be alerted if someone outbids me?

    Yes, you will receive a text notification that someone has outbid you on an item prompting you to bid again.
  • Do I have to purchase a ticket to the auction?

    No, there are no tickets to this year's auction.  Instead, we encourage you to reserve a spot in one of our two experiences! Click here to reserve your spot today!
  • Is there a "Fund-an-Item" this year?

    No, there is no "Fund-An-Item" in this year's auction.  However, there is still an option to make a donation to Norfolk Collegiate if you don't bid on anything at the auction.
  • Will I be alerted prior to the silent and live auctions closing?

    Yes, you will receive a text notification five minutes prior to the silent and live auctions closing. 
  • Where will I find Restaurant Row located?

    Restaurant Row is located in the "Entertainment" section of the silent auction. They are "Buy It Now" items, so once you place a bid to "Buy It Now" you have won the item. 
  • Where are the Lower School Class Baskets located?

    You will find the lower school class baskets located in the silent auction, available to bid on from Tuesday, Oct. 13 - Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m.

  • How will I know if I've won anything?

    At the end of the auction night (8 p.m.), you will receive a text message to prompt you to check out if you have any winnings.
  • What if I forget to check out?

    You will be sent a reminder text following the event. At the end of the next week, the card on file will be charged.
  • When/how will I receive my items that I've won?

    Items can be picked up at the middle and upper school campus any time on Monday, Oct. 19 from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 20 - Friday, Oct. 23 from 2-4:30 p.m. 

    When you arrive, please pull to the Scribner Belltower and call the development office at 757.480.2348.  We will bring your items out to you at that time for contactless delivery. 

    Items may not be sent home with your children who attend the school.

  • What if I can't pick up my items at the times listed?

    Please reach out to the development office at 757.480.2348 to arrange your pick up.
