Ways to Give

Since Norfolk Collegiate was established, we have built new facilities, offered challenging new courses, expanded our arts and athletic programs and increased our student body. Yet the school's spirit of generosity has never changed.

For seven decades, parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees, faculty and friends have generously supported Collegiate. We are grateful to those who have believed in our vision for the school and supported us throughout the years. However, tuition alone does not cover the full cost of a Norfolk Collegiate education, nor does it provide significant funds to construct new buildings or increase our endowment to benefit our faculty and students.

Your gifts also help to provide the best teachers, educational resources and facilities. Most importantly, your gifts have a lifetime impact on our students.

All gifts to Norfolk Collegiate are tax-deductible, acknowledged by the Development Office and may be made via cash, check, credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express) or online.

For additional information on any of these types of gifts, please contact the Assistant Head for Advancement Stacy Nixon at 757.480.2348 or snixon@norfolkcollegiate.org.

  • Will King Leadership Giving Society

As we reflect on Will King's legacy, we are inspired by his unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of excellence, integrity and compassion within our school. The newly named Will King Head of School Award serves as a testament to his enduring influence and the profound impact he had on the lives of countless students, faculty and staff. Mr. King built the foundation of the school we cherish today.

    Will King Leadership Society
    Leadership Level
In addition to the establishment of the annual award, we invite you to join the Will King Leadership Giving Society by making a gift of $5,000 a year for three consecutive years. This will support Will’s legacy that we see every day on campus.

    Sustaining Partner Level
If you are not able to make that commitment at this time, please consider becoming a Sustaining Partner by making a gift of $3,000 a year for three consecutive years.

    Annual Partner Level
Please consider making a one-time gift of $2,500.

Receiving these gifts before June 30, 2024, will begin the next year with support for our students.
  • Planned Giving

There are a variety of ways to plan for your giving to continue over the years at Norfolk Collegiate. Those include gifts of securities, life income gifts, real estate and life insurance.
  • Matching Gifts

Many companies will match a current employee’s contribution to a non-profit organization. By taking advantage of your company's matching gift benefit, your donation could be doubled! Please check with your employer to learn if your company supports matching gifts and to obtain the appropriate paperwork to submit with your gift.
  • Gifts of Stocks & Securities

A gift of stock you have owned for a number of years can have tax advantages for you. If you have owned the stock for more than a year and it has increased in value, its outright gift to Norfolk Collegiate would mean a significant tax savings. You are not required to pay capital gains tax on the appreciation, so the actual cost to you may be less.
  • Library Fund

For many years, Norfolk Collegiate lower school parents and grandparents have been honoring their children and grandchildren on their birthday by contributing to our Library Fund.

Click here to donate to the Library Fund.

Once we receive your contribution, our librarian will select an age-appropriate hardback book and present it to your child or grandchild for his or her birthday. Your child will receive special acknowledgment and the book with a special bookplate during an assembly. The book will stay in the library for all to use and an entry in the library’s online catalog describing their special book will be made.

Donations to the library fund also support Collegiate in the following ways:
    • Hardback books for the lower school library, each with a dedication plaque honoring the birthday boy or girl.
    • Digital books for the library collection can be checked out and read online.
    • TumbleBooks, an online talking and animated book collection for elementary school students, offers engaging stories and accompanying curricular materials. The animated books can be shown in teachers’ classrooms on interactive panels for an even more exciting literacy activity.
