Military Families

Located just six miles from the Norfolk Naval Base, Norfolk Collegiate has served military families since 1948. An independent school is an ideal environment for children whose parents serve our country. Whether you are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, your child will be a known and welcomed member of our family, even if your family is stationed here for a short period of time.

Additional unique aspects of Norfolk Collegiate that allow us to serve military families:

Norfolk Collegiate has a robust financial aid/grant program that makes attending an independent school an affordable option for families (please note financial aid is not available for our pre-kindergarten program).

Preparing for Your Arrival

As soon as you have received verbal orders, contact us to start the application process. Learn more about the application process for pre-kindergarten through grade 5 and the process for grades 6-12

We understand that every military transfer is unique and our admissions team will work with your family to provide individualized assistance along the way. If you are unable to come to our campus, live or virtual tours can be arranged, and admission testing may be done remotely.

Settling into Your New School Home

Our experienced faculty and staff apply knowledge related to the unique needs of military families and are dedicated to creating conditions for a smooth transition for students and family members. In addition, parents and guardians are assigned to a Parent Ambassador who is ready to welcome parents and guardians into our community with information about the local area and school events.
