Students Present "The Alibis" in Fall Theatrical Production

Norfolk Collegiate upper school is bringing the Hackney Theater stage to life in its first production of the school year with “The Alibis” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 5, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Join us and see what happens when a clueless detective tries to track down the alibis of those suspected of murdering eccentric billionaire J. Leslie Arlington. But what happens when the suspects are all reluctant to admit their alibis—because they were all committing other ridiculous crimes?!

The Alibis is a series of 10-minute plays in a classic whodunit with a stellar cast of Oaks, including Bailey W. ’23, Darya B. ’23, Sarah B. ’24, Andrew S. ’24, Caroline B. ’23, Eleanore F. ’23, Ava M. ’26, Allison W. ’23, Natalie K. ’26, Sarah B. ’25, Riley S. ’25, Christian F. ’26, Charlotte H. ’26, Alexa B. ’26, Sophie H. ’29, Lilia M. ’23, Jaden D. ’25, Thomas W. ’25, and Natalia C. ’24.

“The show is fantastic and funny with a ton of variety,” said Brendan Hoyle, theater director. “It’s all over the place in the best way possible with eight mini-plays connecting eight different murder suspects. A delightful mix of ‘Clue’ and ‘Knives Out’ with a dash of Humphrey Bogart and a surprising amount of hamsters and badgers.”

Laughs are guaranteed in this play where every alibi is absolutely absurd!

So join us and experience it for yourself in the Hackney Theater in the Meredith Center for the Arts. Admission is $5 for students and $10 general admission.
