Norfolk Collegiate Theater Director Cast in Professional Theatrical Production

Theater Director and Coordinator of Maker Education Brendan Hoyle will be back in the spotlight come January. Hoyle was cast in Virginia Stage Company’s production of “Sense & Sensibility” at the Wells Theatre in downtown Norfolk.

“It's a very cool stage adaptation,” said Hoyle. “The other actors and I are playing multiple parts. My main role is Edward Ferrars, but I will also be playing Robert Ferrars, Lady Middleton and others.”

Edward Ferrars is the character played by Hugh Grant in the ’90s film adaptation of the popular novel.

The show runs Jan. 22-Feb. 9, including at least 17 regular public performances and an additional two student matinees. For more information about this specific stage adaptation, check out the New York Times review of the off-Broadway production here

Hoyle also is a founding member of Plan B Comedy, an improv sketch and video group that performs throughout Hampton Roads. He more recently graced the stage when he played the lead role in “Hand to God,” a colorful irreverent puppet comedy produced by the Generic Theater, as well as having directed “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Little Theatre of Norfolk in May 2019.
