Norfolk Collegiate Senior Breaks Collegiate’s All-Time Scoring Record

Jordan Battle ’20 made Norfolk Collegiate history on Saturday, Dec. 7, when he eclipsed the previous record of 2,053 held by Bash Townes’ ’16 since 2016. At the end of the game, Jordan marked 2,069 career points.

Jordan’s record-breaking point was made during the John Stones Tournament hosted by Christchurch School. Collegiate won the tournament, advanced their record to 3-0, and Jordan was named most valuable player at the tournament.

“The early morning workouts and late night games were a lot. It took a lot of prayer and patience,” said Jordan who attributes a lot of his success to his mother. “I really appreciate my mom for getting me where I needed to go”.

“I’d like to play basketball in college,” he said. “The dream is to play for Miami University.”

Collegiate will honor Jordan on Tuesday, Dec. 10, during an assembly with the upper school student body. He’ll also be recognized in front of the community at this Friday’s Lower School Spirit Night on Dec. 13, in the Watt-Baker Gymnasium.
