Collegiate Inducts 29 NEW MEMBERS 

Norfolk Collegiate School’s Heath Chapter of the National Honor Society, NHS, inducted 29 new members into the chapter on Friday, April 8, 2016. NHS is a national organization that recognizes outstanding sophomores, juniors and seniors who meet academic and service requirements.

The new inductees included: Haley Alexandra Bartel, Sarah Elizabeth Beck, Florian Raymond Bingel, Chandler Aubrey Branton, Phoenix Olivia Camacho, Dylan Shoal Cheek, Tianqi Dang, Clara Deng, Taylor Lindéa Christine Dews, Hunter Leslie Flora, Madalyn Ruth Foster, Grace Georgo, Brett Melissa Goldman, Qiming Guan, Madison Byrd Harris, Cecilia Angelina Innis, Claudia Leslie Elizabeth King, Ashby Nicole Larkin, Danyang Li, Mia Irene Mathas, Ellie Ginn Maus, Carson Christy McMonagle, Feifan Qiao, Simran Rani Rijhwani, Sarah Ellen Smith, Emma Sare Stephenson, Brooke Elyse Walthall, Yinan Zhao and Quan Zhou.

NHS is open to students in grades 10, 11 and 12 who have a cumulative grade point average of 88 or higher. However, membership is more than just academic. Students must also demonstrate the attributes of leadership, good character and citizenship, as well as a desire to render service and to provide worthy leadership. To be eligible, students have to have already completed 10 hours of community service and must complete additional community service hours before the end of the school year.
