Spelling Bee goes in challenge round

On April 20, 2017, Norfolk Collegiate’s students proved their spelling prowess in the fourth-grade spelling bee.

It took 26 students 26 rounds – a testament to their education and love for words – before our winner was declared! Our acorns went through 181 words before Javiar Love was declared the winner in the challenge round. Classmates Evan Wallach took home second-place honors and Carmen Gaskin took home third place honors.

Javiar took home first place honors last year when he won the third-grade spelling bee. His classmate Evan took home third place honors last year as well, a testament to the boys’ talents.
