Tie your shoelaces and join the race!

Calling all acorns! Norfolk Collegiate is participating in the Operation Smile Final Mile and there are still spaces for our students who would like to participate in the program, which is an extension of the Shamrock Marathon.

The program’s goal is to have elementary students complete their own marathon, 26.2 miles, by running one mile at a time. Our students will run or walk 25.2 miles during their physical education class until the Shamrock Marathon in March, and then complete their final mile on race day, March 19, with 5,000 other elementary students!

Want to participate?

In order to participate in the Operation Smile Shamrock Final Mile, students must register for the race by clicking here anytime. Once registered, the final mile coordinator will contact Collegiate’s Final Mile contacts Alex Bartlett and Cathy White to let me know your child has been registered. The registration fee is $25 from now until the race. All participants receive a race T-shirt, goody bag, gift from Operation Smile, special medal and certificate upon completion of the race.  Participants also receive coupon incentives from various local restaurants, museums and more!

Norfolk Collegiate will have a meeting point the morning of the race, so students will be able to start together.  Don’t miss out on this fun event!!!
