students place in national art competition
Two of Norfolk Collegiate’s middle school students, Cameron Somers ’22 and Graham Fitzwater ’22, received national honors due to their artistic creations.
On July 17, 2017, NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton will turn 100 and to commemorate the centennial, NASA Langley is hosting the Centennial Art Contest. Students from around the nation were encouraged to enter designs that asked for imaginations to fly and to find inspiration in the theme, “A storied past, a soaring future.”
Cameron won first-place honors in the seventh-grade division. Graham received honorable mention in the seventh-grade division for his piece, which beat out more than 3,700 competitors from 43 states in the United States!
The artwork will be on display at the Virginia Air and Space Center in Hampton. Please join us in congratulating these two Norfolk Collegiate artists!
