Experience Nights offer insight into upcoming year for parents

Parents of rising sixth-grade students and rising ninth-grade students are encouraged to attend the Middle School Experience night and Upper School Experience night, respectively, next week.

  • Upper School Experience night will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Middle School Experience will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 5:30 p.m.

Both events will begin and end in the Franklin Lobby in the Meredith Center for the Arts at the Middle and Upper School campus.

On the agenda for the evening, is a brief welcome from Headmaster Scott Kennedy. Parents will then be able to join academic department heads and select administrators for a buffet-style dinner in the Collegiate Cafe.

Following dinner, parents will be able to attend two, 15-minute core classes - social studies, math, English or science - depending upon the group that they are in. The evening will conclude in the Hackney Theater with a short session with Technical Theater Director Brendan Hoyle.

Please note that contrary to the printed calendar, this event is exclusively for parents, though Norfolk Collegiate understands that parents may need to have their children with them. For those who need to bring their children, Collegiate will provide them with dinner and will staff the library and gym for children to do homework or play while parents participate in the program.

Please RSVP to Mrs. Jodi Dobrinsky at jdobrinsky@norfolkcollegiate.org, by noon on Tuesday, Jan. 26, for the Upper School Experience and by noon on Thursday, Jan. 28, for the Middle School Experience.
