Athletes commit to playing for colleges this fall

On April 28,2017, Norfolk Collegiate recognized five senior student-athletes who have committed to play their respective sports at the collegiate level this fall.

The honorees included:

Cameron Brown will be playing soccer at Brown University. Cameron was named first-team All-Tidewater and first -team all-VISAA for girls soccer in 2016 and was named the 2016 TCIS Defensive MVP and 2016 Tidewater Conference Player of the Year.

Alex Loope will be playing tennis at Davidson College. Alex is part of the state’s No. 1 ranked team in VISAA Division II and individually he is undefeated in TCIS play.

Hunter Kahler will be sailing at S.U.N.Y. Maritime College. Hunter is a TCIS second-team skipper and was part of the 2015-16 TCIS championship team and state championship team.

Kile McNair will be playing basketball at the University of Mary Washington. Kile is a 2017 TCIS First-Team played and also participated in “The Virginian-Pilot’s” inaugural Joy Fund All-Star Classic.

Daniel Vail will be sailing at Eckerd College. Daniel is an All-VISAA Skipper of the Year and TCIS First-Team Skipper. He also is captain of the school’s sailing team which won the all-state championship in 2016.
