Annual Sundae Fun Day Event a Smash Hit!

Sunday, Jan. 28, marked the annual Sundae Fun Day event at the lower school, mounting even more evidence that the lower school may be one of the happiest places on Earth.

Pre-k through grade five students had an art showcase to exhibit their carefully created ceramic bowls, each with the letters “NCS” at their center. Students then filled those bowls to the brim with their choice of either vanilla or chocolate ice cream, gummy worms, Oreo cookies, M&Ms and more!

When they were done with their sundaes, parents, students and siblings chose from several stations where they could play and create. Upper and middle school students helped staff the craft, watercolor and face-painting tables as well as the photo booth and open gym.

Lower School Art Teacher Melinda Vooss might be the biggest fan of Sundae Fun Day. She says, “The best part of my day is watching the student's reactions when they pick up their bowl and show it to their parents for the first time. They have such pride in what they’ve created, and that is an amazing part of my job.”

Families left with fun photos, painted faces and new bowls in hand. To see photos from the event, click here.
