Summer Programs at Norfolk Collegiate School
Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Norfolk Collegiate School’s Summer Programs! We hope you are as excited as we are about summer at NCS and all the wonderful camps we have to offer!
Summer is a time of fun and at Norfolk Collegiate School opportunities abound. Our goal is to make this summer your child’s best yet!

Learning without Boundaries

  • Investigation into Light will expose children to a wide range of media as they explore the scientific and artistic explanation of light. Included in the exploration is primitive photography, one of the places where the intersection of science and art started a revolution.
  • LEGO Engineering classes with encourage children to build creatively, learning engineering, artistic and architectural concepts. They will explore simple machines, problem solve and learn about forces in motion while they create.
  • Video Game Programming teaches basic programming and game programming skills, while focusing on problem solving, logic and artistic renderings.
Premier Early Learning Environment
  • Preschoolers and rising Kindergartners will concentrate on skill building and individual achievement in our morning sessions designed especially for them.
  • Sessions include interdisciplinary topics such as “All About Us,” “Community Helpers,” and “All About Animals.”
  • Licensed Preschool and Early Education teachers on lessons in language arts and math through games, crafts, basic reading and writing skills, cooking while maintaining the fun summer environment.
Focus on Communication Arts
  • As Norfolk Collegiate School breaks ground on our state of the art Fine Arts Center, Summer Programs will offer some exciting communication arts programming.
  • Anime and Graphic novels classes will be offered at both a primary and advanced level. Campers will learn to draw and use computer graphics to create their own characters, comics and stories.
  • Our new music program will offer Children’s Chorus as well as Making Music, a unique class in which children will learn to read music, make their own musical instruments, develop a percussion band and more. Musical theatre and Rock Star programs will also be offered.

Academic Offerings

  • Does your elementary student need help with handwriting?  A licensed Occupational Therapist will offer strategies to get their basic skills on track.
  • Are you ready to “Jump Start” next year’s academics? Programs for rising Kindergarteners through grade four will be available, as well as Study Skills for Middle School, which focuses on organization and time management as well as studying strategies.

Varsity Athletics

  • Norfolk Collegiate School’s Varsity athletics coaches will offer high level athletic programs this summer, featuring training from varsity level coaches and college athletes. Programs will be offered in Girl’s and Boy’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Girl’s Basketball and Wrestling.
