For sixty-two years, Norfolk Collegiate School has maintained a tradition of academic excellence in the Hampton Roads community. Our mission driven instructional programs challenge each student to meet the highest academic standards. We are proud to maintain a culture of trust, honor and integrity.
At Norfolk Collegiate School, our teachers not only understand each student's strengths but also work to ensure our students' success in all of their academic pursuits. Our devoted teachers fuse traditional instruction with innovative techniques, including group projects, service learning and interdisciplinary studies. The combination of small classes and a rigorous curriculum allows students to find their own paths to intellectual fulfillment and academic achievement.
Norfolk Collegiate School's desired results for student learning which include arts, character, citizenship, communication, leadership, scholarship, volunteerism and technology are the foundation for the kindergarten through twelfth grade educational experience.
At the lower school, students find an atmosphere where learning is irresistible and curiosity is encouraged. During these formative years, the foundations for life-long learning are established. When students enter our middle school program, they are taught to meet life's challenges with an engaging and innovative curriculum, including creative problem solving, civics, public speaking and creative writing and academic research skills. With over twenty advanced placement courses, the upper school prepares students well for the academic rigors of college and beyond.
The kindergarten through twelfth grade program at Norfolk Collegiate School does far more than challenge students academically. The school guides and encourages young people to build on their own strengths to meet the challenges of the classroom and to develop attitudes and habits that bring success in school, in college and throughout their lives. |
