The Stanton Library serves the Norfolk Collegiate Middle and Upper School from its beautiful, open location on the second floor of the school. The Stanton Library has two major goals: to support and enrich the curriculum in order to help students become effective users of ideas and information, and to foster in students a life-long love of reading.
In order to prepare students to meet the challenges of conducting scholarly and personal research in a technologically advanced society, the library strives to strike a balance between print and electronic sources. The facility, which holds over 10,000 volumes on its shelves, offers access to thousands of periodicals and electronic reference sources through its collection of Internet subscription databases. The librarian collaborates with teachers to integrate research techniques and information seeking skills across all areas of the curriculum. Additionally, a number of book clubs and other reading programs are available to encourage both middle and upper school students to discover their own literary tastes.
