| back | | Meteorologist visits first grade students | | | On February 3rd, Channel 10 meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler, met with our NCS first graders to discuss meteorology. The students were able to see and learn about a few of the instruments used to forecast the weather such as thermometers, Super Doppler Radar, rain gauges, wind vanes, and anemometers. “After his visit, my students came back to the room and asked if they could go to our library to check out books on lightening, hurricanes, tornadoes, and water spouts,” said Mrs. Dashiell. “I think Mr. Wheeler inspired some budding meteorologists.”
This special presentation is part of a broader initiative to further engage young students in science and technology.
