Upper School teachers, Jane Hedgecock and Mark McElhaney, led a delegation of 23 students to the annual Model United Nations Conference hosted by the College of William & Mary. Representing Afghanistan, Guyana, and Djibouti, NCS delegates worked with students from schools around the country to discuss and provide solutions to pressing world issues.
Several students participated in regional committees like the Arab League, the African Union, and the Organization of American States. Others tackled global questions as part of the World Health Organization, and the UN Human Rights Council. Topics for discussion included water crisis, scarcity in the developing world, disarmament and international security, and decolonization.
