| back | | Bake Club Continues 12 year Fight Against Cancer | | | October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the NCS Bake Club has been busy. On October 11, Bake Club officers Sarah Baker and Catherine Kanter presented a check for $1,000 to the Susan G. Komen foundation. The club organized a “pink out,” encouraging students and staff to wear pink to raise awareness and support the cause across campus. Finally, on Saturday, October 15, club members met to walk for the cure.
The Bake Club has a long, proud history with Norfolk Collegiate School. Twelve years ago, an NCS student’s parent was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her classmates wanted to help, so they organized bake sales throughout the year to support the fight against breast cancer. The tradition to fight for a cure has continued every year since through this student-organized club.
