On Saturday February 5, the second annual 'Think Pink' Tournament raised more than $1,000 to benefit the Cherry Blossom Cancer Foundation for cancer research. Organized by Foxcroft School, four varsity, four junior varsity and three middle school girls basketball teams participated in the tournament.
Norfolk Collegiate School varsity team won the tournament with wins over Fredericksburg Academy and Madeira School. NCS JV made it to the championship game, and NCS middle school girls basketball played strong games in the round robin.
"All the players had a great time. It was a real team-bonding experience for everyone,” said Suzanne Midkiff, NCS assistant athletic director and girls varsity basketball coach. “They’re proud to wear the pink ribbon on their team jackets.”
