2011-12 Graduation Details    
Seating Lottery: A lottery drawing will be held on January 24th for floor seats at graduation. Each senior will draw a card with section and row number. Tickets for your allotted seats are enclosed. This system assures you of reserved floor seating for you and your family. You may have up to eight guests. Additional non-ticketed seating will be available in the bleachers.

Return Of School Property: NCS Library books and any other school items must be returned by May 2nd. All athletic uniforms and equipment must be returned within one week following the last game of the season.

d Of Year Attendance: The schedule for seniors beginning May 7th will be as follows: Advanced Placement classes for seniors will end on the day of that class’s scheduled AP exam. Seniors in non-AP classes will continue their attendance in those classes. The last attendance day for seniors will be when they complete their Senior Project or their final exam, whichever is later. Seniors must sign in and out for all other times.

Cap And Gown Distribution: Cap and gown packages will be distributed from the Upper School Office on Wednesday, May 15th and Thursday, May 16th. Please pick up your package on one of these two days. All library obligations and the Senior Project must be complete prior to receiving your cap and gown.

Senior Recognition Program:
 On Wednesday, May 23rd, we will honor our seniors with the Senior Recognition Program. Please note that coats and ties, dress shoes and socks are required for all men. Ladies are required to wear dresses or skirts, and are reminded of proper dress length and appropriateness. This program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 9:30 a.m. Parents are cordially invited to attend this event.
 
Graduation Rehearsal: There are two mandatory graduation rehearsals. The first will be held following the Senior Recognition Program on Wednesday, May 23rd. It is a dress rehearsal as formal graduation pictures will be taken by our professional photographer, Herff Jones.  The second mandatory rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 24th after the Senior Breakfast (9:00 a.m.) 
 
Senior/Faculty Breakfast: The annual Senior/Faculty Breakfast is a wonderful end-of-year event in which seniors are waited on by faculty members at a full sit-down breakfast. Each senior is remembered by name with thoughtful teacher comments and anecdotes. It is truly a memorable event! This year’s date is Thursday, May 24th at 7:30 a.m. Seniors should be prompt.
 
Baccalaureate Service, May 24: Attendance is mandatory for seniors. Please note that coats and ties, dress shoes, and socks are required for all men in the Baccalaureate Service. Ladies are required to wear dresses or skirts, and are reminded of proper dress length and appropriateness. Cap and gown are not worn. Hair length and side-burns for senior men must be according to code. Parents are encouraged to attend this impressive ceremony with their senior. The service begins at 5:00 p.m.
 
Graduation Day, May 25th: Graduation will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. in the Watt-Baker Gymnasium. Seniors are asked to arrive at 3:15 p.m. in cap and gown and report to the Upper School Cafeteria. Senior men are to wear shirts and ties, dress pants, and shoes and socks beneath their gowns. Ladies are also to wear dress shoes with dresses appropriate for the reception that follows. All caps and gowns must be returned to the Upper School Cafeteria before leaving the building on graduation day. 
 
Reception To Follow Graduation Ceremony: Norfolk Collegiate School cordially invites its graduates, parents, and friends to a reception in the Harris Courtyard immediately following the graduation ceremony.
