PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Norfolk Collegiate School Summer Programs are available for all students in the Hampton Roads area. Friends and family from out of state are also welcome. We offer nine weeks of camps for pre K-4 through high school. Enroll in as many fun and educational camps as you like!
 
CAMPS
Norfolk Collegiate School offers morning camps from 8:30 a.m. until noon, afternoon camps from 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. and all day camps from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Full day Oaks camps include lunch! Certain academic programs may have different hours. Please reference the course listing for further information.
 
FEES
The total fee for all programs is due at the time of registration; payment plans are available for Norfolk Collegiate School students and returning campers.
Fees vary depending upon the camp; please reference the individual camp listing for pricing. In addition, a $25 non-refundable registration fee must accompany all applications.
 
EXTENDED DAY CHILDCARE
Before and after camp childcare is available by the week only. Times are as follows: before camp 7 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., $35 per week and after camp 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., $40 per week. Charges for children picked up after 6 p.m. are $3 per minute.
 
LUNCH/SNACK
Lunch is included in our themed, full day camp weeks. Half or full day specialty camp students may pack their own lunches or participate in our hot lunch program. Our lunch program includes a choice of hot entrée or sandwich, two side dishes, drink and dessert each day. The program is $35.00 per week. Daily lunches are not available. Hot lunch is not available during pre- or post- camp weeks.
Students may bring their own snacks and drinks for morning and afternoon or they may purchase snacks at our camp store, which will be open each morning and afternoon for a short period. Snacks, drinks and extra t-shirts will be available for purchase.
 
DROP OFF
Please walk your child to the registration desk in front of the cafeteria and sign-in on the camp-specific sheets located there. Your child may then enter the cafeteria with you or alone to wait for his or her camp to begin.
 
PICK UP
Children may be picked up from the cafeteria registration desk at 12 p.m. or 4 p.m. Please meet your child at the registration desk.
 
BUS SERVICE
Bus service is available between campuses as follows: from Tidewater Drive to Granby Street before morning camp and before afternoon camp, from Granby Street to Tidewater Drive after morning camp and after afternoon camp.
 
FIELD TRIPS
Some camps include field trips in the local area. School buses with certified drivers are used for these trips. Norfolk Collegiate School Summer Programs staff always accompanies campers on field trips. Your registration form includes a blanket field trip permission form; however, you will be notified of specific field trips before they occur.
 
STAFF
The majority of camps are designed and run by a professional staff of caring and experienced teachers, most of whom are Norfolk Collegiate School faculty. All other camps are run by instructors with eight to ten years experience with Norfolk Collegiate School Summer Programs. All assistant counselors are Norfolk Collegiate alumni.
 
GRADE LEVELS
All camps are designed for students entering the specific grade levels in the 2012-2013 school year. The grade levels are set by the instructors and may only be changed with the permission of the director of summer programs.
 
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Campers may register for any combination of programs online, by fax or by mail. The $25 per child registration fee must be included with each application. The fee is waived if a child registers for additional camps (if space is available) throughout the summer. Camps must be paid in full by June 1.
 
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Norfolk Collegiate School Summer Programs is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and adheres to the guidelines in Title 63.1, Chapter 10 of the Virginia Code. We ask that you pay careful attention to the details of the registration process and complete your child’s paperwork carefully and completely because the information we request is required by licensing for your child to attend camp at Norfolk Collegiate School.
 
FORMS
A completed health and physical evaluation form as well as proof of birth (birth certificate, passport or a report card from a Virginia Public School) are required for registration. Returning campers should check to ensure these items are on file.
 
REFUNDS, WITHDRAWALS AND TRANSFERS 
Remaining balances will be refunded for withdrawals before June 3, 2012. Those who withdraw after this date are responsible for the full tuition.
 
CAMP CANCELLATIONS
Norfolk Collegiate School Summer Programs reserves the right to cancel any camp. In such instances, parents will be contacted with other options for camp placement. Fees for cancelled camps will be refunded or may be applied to another camp.
 
SUNSCREEN
By enrolling your child in camp, you are agreeing to allow camp counselors to apply Coppertone Kids sunscreen (SPF 50) and Off insect repellent when needed. Please contact the director of summer programs if you have concerns about this policy.
 
SWIMMING
Please be sure to complete the area on the application that states which level of swimming activity your child may participate: non-swimmer, beginner, intermediate or advanced.
