In recent news at Norfolk Collegiate School...    

The last of the rubble has been cleared and the site for the arts center is smooth and ready to go! While the first concrete blocks are being laid for the new arts center, the second semester gets underway, full of exciting activities at the Upper, Middle, and Lower Schools. 

Over Winter Break, Spanish teacher Michelle Bakeman led 10 NCS students to Peru! Check out the pictures and the tale of their travel.

Two Middle School students—Aaron Boutwell and Helena Zirkle—are WordMasters! They earned perfect scores in the WordMasters Challenge competition’s first meet in December. There are two more meets to go before the awards are handed out in June. Read the full article here.

The Oak Ambassador bake sale was
held at the NCS Middle & Upper School Jan 24.  The Oak Ambassador students chose The Make A Wish Foundation to receive all proceeds – continuing students’ commitment to help others.

The Middle School performs in January! Middle School singers will chill out on the ice when the chorus performs at the Norfolk Admirals hockey game January 28. In addition, the eighth grade drama class produced and performed “Willy Wonka” for the entire middle school and provided a special show for the 5th graders on January 19.

Preparations continue for the February 15 UNITY program—this year’s theme: Inventions and Inventors. NCS students at all levels will work together on a variety of projects, including creating their own inventions, and studying the innovations of the past.
